This is of course the gateway to the Chilean Andes and its natural wonders, the southernmost regions of South America and the mysteries of Antarctica , but Santiago is a scenic and exhilarating destination in its own right, where international vacationers, business professionals, and the local population create a diverse blend, that has helped to make Santiago a truly cosmopolitan city.
